Start
Between 8:00 AM and 8:30AM, the My Son tour from Hoi An begins as your driver and guide pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An center and head towards the My Son Sanctuary.
My Son
Upon arrival at My Son sanctuary around 9:30 am, the tour begins with a visit to the ancient ruins.
My Son is an impressive complex of Hindu temples built by the ancient Cham people, dating back to the 4th century. There are around 70 temples all located in a lush green valley surrounded by forested hills.
There are nine groups of ruins at My Son, with Groups A, B-C-D, and E-F being the most important ones. Each group has its own unique features, with intricate carvings and detailed architecture that showcase the impressive skills of the Cham builders. As you explore these ancient structures, you’ll be transported back in time to a world of ancient traditions and beliefs.
The ruins of Groups G, H, and L may be smaller in size, but they are still worth exploring for their unique features and serene surroundings.
Aside from the temples, you’ll also see the remnants of bomb craters from the Vietnam War, adding another layer of history and significance to this already fascinating site.
The entire complex is well connected with good trails, making it easy to explore all of the groups and fully appreciate the beauty and history of My Son.
Work- shop
From around 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, you will visit a local house where you can learn the traditional technique of making rice paper. You will have the opportunity to make your own rice paper and enjoy the delicious results of your own handiwork later on.
Lunch
At 12:30 pm, indulge in a delightful lunch featuring authentic local cuisine at a charming local house.
Boat tour
At 1:30 pm, we will head to the Cau Lau boat station and board a comfortable motorized boat to cruise up the Thu Bon River, enjoying scenic views of the lush greenery and tranquil waters as we make our way back to Hoi An.
End
After the boat trip, the bus will take you back to your hotel in Hoi An, where your My Son tour from Hoi An will come to a close at approximately 2:00 pm.
