Departures leave Phu Quoc International Airport in the south of the island and land at Noi Bai Airport, north of Hanoi. Getting from your hotel to Phu Quoc airport
Phu Quoc International Airport is in the south of the island, around 10 to 15 kilometres from the main town of Duong Dong and close to the Long Beach resort strip. From Long Beach or Duong Dong it is a 15 to 20-minute drive; from the northern resorts near Ong Lang or Grand World, allow 30 to 45 minutes. A hotel or resort transfer is the easiest option, offered free or for a set price by many places. Otherwise a metered taxi from a trusted firm like Mai Linh runs about 180,000 to 250,000 VND (roughly $7 to $10) from Duong Dong, or you can order a Grab, which works well on the island and quotes the fare upfront. Aim to be at the airport at least 1.5 to 2 hours before a domestic departure.
Getting from Noi Bai airport into Hanoi
At the other end, Noi Bai is Hanoi’s main airport but sits well outside the city, about 30 kilometres and 45 minutes to an hour from the Old Quarter. You can reach the centre by taxi or Grab, by the cheaper airport shuttle buses, or by the express Bus 86, which runs to the Old Quarter and the railway station.
