How to pay Local Vietnam: bank transfer or card

Paying Local Vietnam by bank transfer is simple and secure. Bank transfers go directly to our official company account in Vietnam. This page explains the payment options, our bank details and how to check your transfer.

Payment options

Local Vietnam offers two secure ways to complete your booking:

Bank transfer

No fees from our side. Your own bank may charge a fee for an international transfer.
The money can take 1 to 3 business days to arrive.
Payments are accepted in VND, USD, EUR, CAD and AUD.

Credit card through PayPal

PayPal processes the payment at once and gives purchase protection.
A 3% card fee covers part of PayPal’s costs.

Paying by credit card (through PayPal)

We accept credit card payments through PayPal, a secure and trusted platform that offers full purchase and fraud protection. All payments go directly to our verified business PayPal account.

You can pay with all major cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. You do not need a PayPal account: choose to pay by card at the checkout or when you open the payment link.

To cover part of PayPal’s transaction and currency conversion costs, a 3% card fee applies.

Day tours that you book directly on our website are paid at the website’s checkout, by card through PayPal. For tours booked on request, package tours and tailor-made trips, your Local Vietnam travel expert sends you a secure PayPal payment link. Follow the steps on the screen. When the payment is complete, you receive a confirmation at once.

Paying by bank transfer

Local Vietnam is a registered travel company based in Vietnam. Under Vietnamese law, bank transfers must go to our official business bank account, never to a personal account. You can use services such as Wise or Revolut to send the money. The receiving account must always be our Vietnamese business bank account, never a personal or foreign account.

Currencies available: Payments can be made in VND, USD, EUR, CAD or AUD. Each currency has its own dedicated bank account, so please make sure you use the correct one for your currency.
Transfer destination: All transfers go to our business account with Eximbank (Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint-Stock Bank) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Processing time: International transfers usually take 1 to 3 business days to arrive, depending on your bank and country.
Fees: Local Vietnam does not charge any transfer fees, but your own bank may apply international transaction costs.
Verification required: Always double-check the account name, account number, and SWIFT code before confirming your transfer. If any detail is incorrect, the payment may be returned by the bank, and your bank might charge a return fee.
Address field: some banks ask for the receiver’s address. It only helps to complete the bank’s form and does not change the transfer.
After payment: Once your payment is made, please send a screenshot or transfer confirmation to your Local Vietnam travel expert for faster verification.

Tip: Wise for international payments

Questions about bank transfers

My bank does not let me enter a SWIFT or BIC code. What should I do?

Every international transfer requires a SWIFT or BIC code. If your bank doesn’t show this option, it usually means the transfer type isn’t set to international. Select “International payment” and make sure the destination country is set to Vietnam. Once you do that, your bank will automatically ask for the SWIFT/BIC. Some banks only request it in later steps of the transfer process, so continue until you see it.

My bank says the account number is invalid or should include both letters and numbers. Is that normal?

Yes. This usually means your transfer isn’t set to international yet. Vietnamese bank accounts don’t use IBANs or letter codes. Switch your transfer type to “International” or “Outside [your country/region]” and select Vietnam as the destination country. Then the account number will be accepted.

My bank is asking for an IBAN. What should I enter instead?

Vietnam doesn’t use IBAN numbers. If your bank asks for one, it’s trying to process a domestic or European transfer. Change the transfer type to “International” and select Vietnam as the destination country. Then you’ll be able to enter a standard account number and SWIFT/BIC code.

My bank says the address isn’t valid or too long. How should I fill this in?

The address isn’t critical for completing the transfer. If the field doesn’t accept slashes ( / ), try using dashes (-) or spaces. If it is too long, leave out the district or ward. What matters is the account name, the account number and the SWIFT code.

My bank asks for a province or state. What should I select?

Select Ho Chi Minh City. It functions as both the city and province, so this is always the correct choice.

When will I know if my payment has been received?

We notify you as soon as your transfer arrives in our account. Depending on your bank and the currency, this can take 1 to 3 business days.

How long does an international transfer to Vietnam usually take?

Transfers typically arrive within 1 to 3 business days, depending on your bank and country. Transfers aren’t processed on weekends or Vietnamese national holidays.

Are there any extra costs or fees when sending money to Vietnam?

Local Vietnam doesn’t charge any transfer fees. However, your own bank may apply fees for international or currency conversion payments. We recommend checking this with your bank before transferring.

My currency isn’t listed. How can I still make a transfer?

Our currency accounts are VND, USD, EUR, CAD and AUD. If your currency is not one of these five, send one of them, or ask your travel expert which is best. Choose to “send in that currency” within your bank. Do not send your local currency (like SGD) to a different currency account, as it will be rejected by the bank.

I forgot to add my payment reference. What happens now?

Don’t worry. We can usually identify your payment from the amount and sender’s name. It just helps us process your booking faster when the invoice number is included.

What information is the most important to fill in correctly?

Enter these fields exactly as shown above: country, currency account, account name, SWIFT code and account number.

I made a mistake with my payment details. What should I do?

If a detail is wrong, for example the currency or the account name, our bank rejects the transfer and sends the money back. However, your bank may deduct a return fee. Once refunded, you can resend the payment using the correct details.

Can I split my payment into two smaller transfers?

Yes, this is sometimes possible if your bank has a transfer limit. Please contact your Local Vietnam travel expert first so we can note this in our system and match both payments correctly.
