What is Grand World Phu Quoc?
Grand World Phu Quoc is a large entertainment, shopping, and dining complex in the north of the island, located in the Bai Dai / Ganh Dau area. It is part of the Phu Quoc United Center, a major development by Vingroup. The area is designed as a themed “city” with colorful European-style streets, a Venice-inspired canal with gondola rides, restaurants, bars, hotels, and various shows. It is clean, well-organized, and clearly built for tourism, which makes it easy to visit but also less authentic compared to other parts of Phu Quoc.

The atmosphere here changes a lot depending on the time of day. During the daytime, it can feel quiet, hot, and sometimes even a bit empty. In the late afternoon and evening, the place becomes much more lively, with lights reflecting on the canal, shows starting, and restaurants filling up.
Grand World is also located next to two other major attractions part of the Vingroup development:
- VinWonders Phu Quoc, a large theme park with rides, an aquarium, and a water park, and;
- Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, a safari-style zoo with animal encounters and shows.
Grand World can be fun for an evening visit, especially with kids or if you enjoy themed entertainment, but it is not the reason most travelers come to Phu Quoc.
Highlights of visiting Grand World Phu Quoc
Grand World is less about one single attraction and more about walking around, taking photos, watching the evening shows, eating, and combining several small experiences.
1. Venice-style canal and colorful streets

The Venice-style canal is the main visual highlight of Grand World and the reason most people come here. The area is built with colorful buildings, small bridges, and a central canal that runs through the complex. It is designed to look like a European town, with many photo spots along the water and streets.

This is the best place in Grand World to simply walk around, stop for a coffee, and take photos. It looks much better in the late afternoon and evening, when the lights turn on and reflect on the water. During the day, it can feel hot and a bit empty. It is also important to know that this is a fully artificial environment. If you are looking for local Vietnamese culture or authenticity, this is not it.
2. Gondola ride on the Venice River
The gondola ride is one of the main activities in Grand World. It is a short boat ride through the canal, similar to what you see in Venice, with the boat slowly passing the colorful buildings while staff sometimes take photos for you.

It is popular with families, couples, and travelers who enjoy taking photos. Some visitors really enjoy the experience, while others feel it is quite short and not very exciting compared to expectations. One practical thing to keep in mind is that queues can get very long in the evening, especially around sunset and after dinner time, so it can take a while before you actually get on a boat.
Current price:
- Adults / visitors above 140 cm: 200,000 VND
- Children 100 cm to under 140 cm and elderly visitors: 150,000 VND
4. The Quintessence of Vietnam show
This is the main paid show in Grand World and the biggest structured activity in the evening. It takes place on a large outdoor stage and combines traditional Vietnamese themes with modern production, including lighting effects, music, costumes, and 3D projection mapping. The show is professionally produced and gives a simplified version of Vietnamese culture in a performance format.

It is a good option if you want a clear evening highlight instead of just walking around. Keep in mind that this is more of a polished entertainment show than an authentic cultural experience. It is designed for tourists, but still enjoyable if you like performances and large-scale shows.
Schedule:
- Daily from 20:15 to 21:00
Price:
- 300,000 VND for visitors above 140 cm
- 230,000 VND for children 100 cm to under 140 cm and elderly visitors
5. Charm of Venice show

The Charm of Venice show is a free evening water, light, and music show at the Lake of Love. It combines fountains, lights, and projections, and is one of the easiest highlights to enjoy without buying any tickets.

Many visitors mention this as a positive part of their visit, especially because it adds some energy to the evening and gives a reason to stay after dinner. It is not a very long show, but it fits well into an evening visit and is worth watching if you are already there.
Schedule:
- Daily from 21:30 to 21:55
6. Teddy Bear Museum

The Teddy Bear Museum is one of the few indoor attractions in Grand World and is mainly aimed at families with young children. Inside, you’ll find themed displays, storytelling elements, and many different teddy bear figures in various settings. It is also a popular place for photos.

For families, it can be a nice break from the heat and a fun activity for kids. For adults without children, it is usually not a must-see and can easily be skipped unless you are specifically interested.
Price:
- Adults / visitors above 140 cm: 200,000 VND
- Children 100 cm to under 140 cm and elderly visitors: 150,000 VND
7. Urban Park
Urban Park is an outdoor area with contemporary art installations and sculptures spread across an open space in Grand World. It is designed as a mix of art and landscape, with different shapes and structures that stand out from the rest of the complex.

It is a nice spot for a short walk and some photos, especially if you are already exploring the area nearby. Entry is free, and you don’t need much time here. Like most outdoor areas in Grand World, it is better to visit outside the midday heat, as there is limited shade.
8. Grand World Night Market and restaurants
Grand World has a wide range of food options, from street-style stalls to full restaurants and cafes. You’ll find seafood, Vietnamese dishes, Indian restaurants, and other international options. It is easy and convenient to eat here, especially if you are already visiting in the evening and don’t want to travel back to another part of the island.

That said, this is not the place for the best-value or most authentic local food in Phu Quoc. Many visitors mention that prices are higher than in Duong Dong or local areas, which is expected in a tourist-focused complex. Food quality can also vary depending on the restaurant, so it is worth checking reviews or taking a quick look before choosing where to eat.
9. Evening lights, fireworks, and nightlife atmosphere

The main reason to visit Grand World is the evening atmosphere. Once the sun goes down, the whole area changes with lights reflecting on the canal, music starting, and more people walking around. It feels much more lively compared to the daytime, when parts of the complex can feel quiet or empty.

There are also shows and occasional events in the evening, including water shows and sometimes fireworks, depending on the schedule. This makes it a better place to visit in the late afternoon or evening rather than during the day, even if you only plan to walk around for a few hours.
Location and how to get to Grand World Phu Quoc
Where is Grand World Phu Quoc?
Grand World Phu Quoc is located in the north of Phu Quoc, in the Bai Dai / Ganh Dau area. It is part of the large Phu Quoc United Center, a tourism complex developed by Vingroup.
It sits close to several other major attractions, including VinWonders Phu Quoc, Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, Vinpearl hotels and resorts, Corona Casino, and Bai Dai Beach. This makes it easy to combine multiple activities in the same area. At the same time, it is quite far from the south of the island, including the cable car and beaches like Sao Beach or Khem Beach.
From Duong Dong
From Duong Dong, the easiest way to get to Grand World is by taxi or private car. The journey usually takes around 35 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic and your exact starting point.
It is also possible to go by scooter, but keep in mind that the distance is quite long. If you stay into the evening, the ride back in the dark may not be comfortable for everyone, especially if you are not used to driving in Vietnam.
From Phu Quoc Airport
From Phu Quoc International Airport, Grand World is about 30 to 40 kilometers away. The easiest option is a taxi or private transfer, which is straightforward and relatively fast.
There is also a VinBus connection. Route 17 runs between the airport and Grand World, with operating hours from early morning to late night (around 04:00 to 02:20). Travel time is about 60–70 minutes depending on traffic and stops along the way.
By VinBus
VinBus is a useful option if you are looking for a cheaper way to travel around the island, especially if your hotel is near one of the routes. Route 17 connects the airport, central areas, and Grand World. Routes 19 and 20 may also be useful depending on where you stay.
One important thing to know is that many older guides describe VinBus as free. This is not always the case anymore. Some newer updates mention that fares are being introduced, so it is better to check the current situation in the VinBus app or ask your hotel before planning your trip.
Getting around inside Grand World
Grand World is a large area, and walking from one side to another can take time, especially in the heat. If you plan to explore more than just the canal area, it can feel tiring after a while.
There are small electric buggy cars available that can take you around the complex. These are useful for families, older travelers, or anyone who prefers not to walk long distances. In any case, it is a good idea to wear comfortable shoes.

A general reference is around 06:00 to 23:59 for most activity, but restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and the night market can stay open later depending on demand.

Best time to visit Grand World Phu Quoc
The best time to visit is in the late afternoon and evening. A good plan is to arrive around 16:00 to 18:00, walk around while it is still light, and then stay for dinner and the evening shows.
Midday is usually not ideal because it gets very hot, there is limited shade, and the atmosphere can feel quiet. In the evening, the lights turn on, more people arrive, and the whole place feels more lively.
In terms of season, the dry season from November to April is more comfortable for walking around.
How long do you need?
- 1–2 hours: quick walk, photos, short visit
- 3–4 hours: relaxed evening visit with dinner and a free show
- 5–6 hours: include gondola ride, museum, and paid show
- Full day: only makes sense if you combine it with VinWonders Phu Quoc or Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc
Facilities
Grand World is well developed and easy to visit, especially compared to more local areas of Phu Quoc.
You will find:
- Restaurants and cafes
- Toilets
- Shops
- Hotels nearby
- Buggy and electric car services
- Parking areas
- ATMs and money exchange (rates may not be the best)
It is also very family-friendly, especially within the wider Vingroup complex.
What to bring
- Comfortable shoes
- Sun protection if visiting before evening
- Water
- Small cash
- Phone or camera
- Light rain protection in rainy season
Practical tips before visiting
Try to book gondola rides or shows in advance during busy periods, as queues can get long. Expect prices for food and drinks to be higher than in local towns. It is not the best place for souvenir shopping, so don’t come mainly for that.
Check restaurant reviews before choosing where to eat, as quality can vary. Be flexible, as some shops or areas may feel empty or closed depending on the time of day. If you are traveling with children, the Teddy Bear Museum is worth considering. If you prefer local culture and less artificial places, keep your visit short and focus on the evening atmosphere.
What is nearby to combine a visit?
Grand World is in the north of Phu Quoc, so it combines best with other northern attractions rather than places in the far south like the cable car, Sao Beach, or Sunset Town.
Vinpearl attractions nearby
The biggest advantage of Grand World is that it is located inside the same area as several major attractions developed by Vingroup.
- VinWonders Phu Quoc: A large theme park with rides, a water park, aquarium, and shows. Best combined if you want a full entertainment day, but it can be quite tiring to do everything in one day.
- Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc: A safari-style zoo with a bus safari, animal shows, and family-friendly facilities. This is often visited earlier in the day, followed by Grand World in the evening.
- Corona Casino Phu Quoc: A nearby option for nightlife, but only relevant if you are interested in casino-style entertainment.
Nearby beaches and local spots
There are also a few beaches and quieter places nearby that you can combine with Grand World.
- Bai Dai Beach: A long stretch of beach close to the Vinpearl complex. It is convenient if you are staying in the north, but it feels more developed and less local compared to other beaches on the island.
- Ganh Dau Cape: A quieter coastal area with sea views and a more local atmosphere. It is a good contrast before heading to Grand World in the evening.
- Nguyen Trung Truc Temple: A simple local temple in the north, useful as a short cultural stop if you are exploring the Ganh Dau area.
- Rach Vem Fishing Village: Known for shallow water and starfish, but conditions vary a lot depending on the season and cleanliness. It is better as a separate daytime trip rather than something to rush before visiting Grand World.
Is Grand World Phu Quoc worth visiting?
Grand World Phu Quoc is worth visiting if you enjoy themed entertainment areas, evening lights, shows, restaurants, easy facilities, and photo spots. It works especially well for families, groups of friends, travelers staying in the north of Phu Quoc, and visitors already combining it with VinWonders Phu Quoc or Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc. The best way to experience it is as an evening visit: arrive late afternoon, walk around the canal, have dinner, maybe take the gondola ride, and stay for one of the night shows.
It is not for everyone. Grand World feels artificial, commercial, and very purpose-built, which is exactly what some travelers dislike about it. If you come to Phu Quoc for beaches, fishing villages, local food, snorkeling, nature, and a relaxed island feeling, Grand World may feel fake or unnecessary. Prices are generally higher than in local parts of the island, some areas can feel empty during the day, and the large concrete spaces can be hot and tiring. For many travelers, it is worth a few hours in the evening, but not a full-day highlight of Phu Quoc.
