Unmarked trails

Around the Love Waterfall, there are several unmarked trails for the more adventurous. If you choose to explore these trails, proceed with caution and be aware of your surroundings.

Best time to visit the waterfall

Rainy Season

The rainy season, from May to November, significantly impacts the appearance of the Love Waterfall. The waterfall is at its fullest and most impressive during this time, particularly from June to August when the rainfall is at its peak. This period makes for the most stunning waterfall views.

Autumn

From September to November, the waterfall still benefits from the rain of the previous months, ensuring a strong flow of water. The weather during autumn is also very pleasant, making it a great time to visit.

Winter

During the winter months, from December to February, the weather is cold, and there is usually very little rain. While swimming might not be appealing due to the cold, the waterfall remains a lovely sight, even if the flow is less powerful.

Spring

Spring, from March to April, brings very nice weather, but the waterfall’s flow is reduced due to the preceding dry season. Despite this, the scenery and the pleasant trekking weather make it a worthwhile visit.

Is it worth visiting the Love Waterfall?

Absolutely! The Love Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls to visit around Sapa. Its appeal lies not just in the waterfall itself, which is beautiful, but in the overall experience. The journey to the waterfall, through the forest trail, is a highlight. This trail is easy to navigate on your own and offers a wonderfully scenic and peaceful walk. Because reaching the waterfall requires this walk, it tends to be less crowded compared to other waterfalls in the area.

The entire experience, from the serene forest trek to the picturesque waterfall, offers a perfect blend of nature and tranquility. You can also enjoy a picnic by the waterfall. Additionally, you can combine your visit to the Love Waterfall with an exploration of the nearby Tram Ton Pass, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam, and the Silver Waterfall.
