Start :
Meet your guide at your hotel
Your evening begins at 18:00 when your guide picks you up at your hotel in central Ho Chi Minh City. After a quick introduction and check-in, you’ll start exploring the lively streets of District 1 on foot.
Stop 1 :
Walk through local alleys
Head into the backstreets and hidden corners of Saigon where real local life happens. Your guide will lead you to tucked-away stalls and family-run eateries — places most travelers would never find alone.
Stop 2 :
Taste iconic Vietnamese street food
Throughout the walk, you’ll stop at several food stalls to sample classic Vietnamese dishes like fresh spring rolls, banh mi, and either beef or chicken noodle soup. Everything is freshly prepared and locally loved.
Dinner
Stop 3 :
Sweet treats and local drinks
Wrap up your food crawl with a Vietnamese dessert and a local drink — maybe a sweet soup, coconut treat, or sugarcane juice, depending on the day. It’s a laid-back way to finish off a night of eating and walking.
End :
Return to your hotel
Around 21:30, your guide will arrange a taxi (if needed) to take you back to your hotel. You’ll end the night full, happy, and with a better understanding of Saigon’s street food culture.

A great website and good contact
I used the Local Vietnam website a lot to plan our trip, with lots of clear, up-to-date information on places, sights and practical matters. During our trip we also booked a tour to the Cu Chi tunnels through Local Vietnam, and it was really well arranged! We were picked up at our hotel, we were a small group and our guide was very nice and spoke good English.

Fantastic
Our trip to Ho Chi Minh City was smooth and memorable. The airport pickup was very efficient, and the ride made it clear that renting a car there would be a disaster. When I left my iPad behind, the company took care of getting it back to me. The tours were fascinating and the war museum was moving. I recommend reading a book on the Vietnam War before you go.

Unforgettable experiences with local experts
Both tours we booked through Local Vietnam were exceptional: the Cu Chi Tunnels and Saigon at night by vintage Vespa. I cannot begin to describe how happy we both were with the guides and the experiences. The booking office also answers quickly and professionally.

Lovely day trip to the Cu Chi tunnels
We arranged a private driver to the Cu Chi tunnels through Local Vietnam. The shooting was the highlight for our son, so we did that first, with nobody else there that early. Then we went to the tunnels with a local guide. Communication went perfectly, and although our driver spoke little English, he was a good driver.

What security, quality and service!
Ho Chi Minh City was definitely worth it too on our three-and-a-half-week family trip, even if it is a madhouse with a lot to take in. The War Remnants Museum is worth a visit. The church and the post office are nice, but not really special for Westerners.

One of our highlights on our four-week trip through Vietnam was an evening on Bui Vien Street in Ho Chi Minh City, with all the music, dancers and lovely rock bands in a sports cafe. The War Remnants Museum there is impressive too.
