Itinerary
Begin your 1 week Central Vietnam tour with a warm welcome at Da Nang International Airport. A friendly driver will meet you just outside the terminal and take you on a scenic 40-minute ride to your hotel in Hoi An. Check in and relax in this charming heritage town, known for its lantern-lit streets, riverside cafes, and ancient architecture.
Start your morning with a guided cycling tour through the peaceful countryside of Cam Kim Island. Ride past rice fields, local workshops, and wooden boat makers before crossing to Cam Thanh Village. Here, enjoy an optional basket boat ride through the lush Bay Mau coconut forest. The journey continues through quiet farming roads and finishes in the herb-growing village of Tra Que before heading back to town.

Discover the ancient ruins of My Son Sanctuary, once the spiritual heart of the Champa Kingdom. Walk among moss-covered towers dating back as far as the 4th century. Scenic Transfer from Hoi An to Hue
Travel from Hoi An to Hue with stops at several stunning landmarks along the way. Visit the marble caves and temples of Marble Mountain, see the traditional stone carving in Non Nuoc Village, and relax on the shores of My Khe and Lang Co Beaches. Drive the dramatic Hai Van Pass for panoramic coastal views and stop at tranquil Lap An Lagoon before arriving in Hue.

Historical Highlights of Hue
Explore the former imperial capital of Vietnam on a guided city tour. Start with a dragon boat ride to Thien Mu Pagoda, then continue to the majestic Imperial Citadel. Stroll through Dong Ba Market, enjoy a local lunch, and in the afternoon, visit the royal tombs of Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. End the day with a visit to a traditional incense and conical hat-making village.

Set off early for a scenic drive to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. On odd days, explore the vast underground chambers of Paradise Cave, the longest dry cave in Asia. When is the best time for this Central Vietnam tour?
Best time: The best months are February–August. This stretch offers the most reliable weather for exploring Hoi An, Hue, and the coastal areas around Da Nang.
- October–November: Not recommended due to heavy rain and possible flooding in Hoi An and Hue.
- September: Mixed—can be beautiful, but with a higher chance of storms.
- December–January–February: Fine for sightseeing and culture, but expect cooler, cloudier days and less ideal beach weather.
What is better, staying in Hoi An or Da Nang?
Where to stay: Most travelers prefer Hoi An because it has the region’s main attractions—Old Town, countryside cycling, craft villages, markets, cafés, and boutique hotels. Everything is close and very walkable.
Da Nang is a good choice if you like a more modern city feel, wide beaches, nightlife, and easy access to international restaurants. You can still visit Hoi An on day trips.

Absolutely. Phong Nha is not only one of the highlights of Central Vietnam but one of the most impressive destinations in the whole country. Even if you’re not a “cave person,” you’ll find dramatic landscapes, jungle valleys, rivers, cycling routes, and some of the largest cave systems in the world. It’s a completely unique experience compared to the coastal areas.
