The drive takes around three and a half to four hours on the expressway. The one thing to plan for is the start: neither station is in Mui Ne, so you begin with a short road transfer to the platform.

Phan Thiet station
Phan Thiet station is the closer of the two to Mui Ne, about 20 to 25 kilometers away. A direct train, the SPT1, runs from Phan Thiet to Saigon in around four hours, which makes it the handiest train for Mui Ne. Getting to the station from the resort strip takes 30 to 40 minutes by taxi or Grab, roughly 150,000 to 250,000 VND (about $6 to $10). Binh Thuan station
Binh Thuan station, also known as Muong Man, has far more departures, since the regular north-south trains from the coast down to Saigon stop here, with the trip taking around three and a half to four and a half hours. The catch is the distance: it lies about 35 to 40 kilometers from Mui Ne, so the taxi to the station is longer and dearer, around 300,000 to 450,000 VND ($12 to $18).
