Why choose the train

It does not appear on most booking sites, so it is easy to miss, but it runs from Saigon to two stations near Mui Ne, and the fares are low. The one catch is that neither station is in Mui Ne itself, so you finish the trip by road, but the ride is pleasant and the last leg is short.

Phan Thiet station
Phan Thiet station is the closer of the two to Mui Ne, around 20 to 25 kilometers away. A direct train, the SPT2, runs from Saigon to Phan Thiet in about four hours, which makes it the most convenient train for Mui Ne. From the station, a taxi or Grab to the resort strip takes 30 to 40 minutes and costs roughly 150,000 to 250,000 VND (about $6 to $10). Binh Thuan station
Binh Thuan station, also called Muong Man, is served by many more trains, the regular north-south services from Saigon, with the trip taking around three and a half to four and a half hours. The trade-off is distance: it sits around 35 to 40 kilometers from Mui Ne, so the taxi at the end is longer and pricier, roughly 300,000 to 450,000 VND ($12 to $18).
