10:00 PM – Start: Sleeper train from Hanoi
Your Sapa adventure begins with an overnight ride on the Dream Train Express. Settle into a cozy 4-berth cabin with air-conditioning and fresh bedding. It’s a comfortable and time-saving way to travel to Lao Cai, arriving early in the morning so you don’t lose a day on the road.
Optional: You can upgrade to a VIP sleeper bus, take a limousine bus with an extra night in Sapa, or arrange a private transfer.
Begin your Sapa adventure with the overnight Dream Train Express, where comfort meets charm on the rails. Step into a cozy cabin with plush beds, wooden accents, and warm lighting that creates a peaceful atmosphere as the train gently rocks you to sleep. As the city fades into the night, you’ll journey through quiet countryside and misty valleys under the stars. By morning, you’ll arrive in Lao Cai feeling refreshed and ready to explore the majestic mountains of northern Vietnam.
Once you arrive at Lao Cai station, a driver will be waiting to take you up the mountains to Sapa. After a welcome breakfast, your guide will walk with you to the center of town to collect your mountain bike.
After a relaxed break in Ban Ho, a jeep will be ready to take you back to Sapa town. You’ll check in to your accommodation and have the evening free to rest or explore at your own pace.
Maison de Sapa is a cozy hillside retreat offering a peaceful escape just outside the main bustle of town. Rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, many with private balconies overlooking the valley. With warm hospitality, delicious daily breakfast, and support for local bookings and transport, it’s an ideal base for a relaxing stay in Sapa.
After breakfast, set off on a day of hiking through the rice terraces and ethnic villages around Sapa. You can choose from three trekking routes based on your fitness level and interest:
Option 1: Standard route – Y Linh Ho → Lao Chai → Ta Van
This is our most popular trek—great if you're looking for a balanced hike. You’ll walk through the heart of the Muong Hoa Valley on small dirt trails, with stops in ethnic minority villages like Y Linh Ho (Black H’mong), Lao Chai, and Ta Van (Zay). The distance is moderate, and the terrain is a mix of trails and paths. Ideal if you want a bit of everything: scenery, culture, and manageable effort.
Option 2: Family-friendly route – Giang Ta Chai → Su Phan → Ban Ho
Prefer something gentler? This route follows a more gradual descent into the valley using a mix of paved and dirt paths. It’s ideal for families with kids, older travelers, or anyone who wants a relaxed day outdoors. You’ll visit Tay ethnic villages and enjoy rice field views without steep climbs or tricky footing.
Option 3: Off-the-beaten-track – Su Phan → Ban Ho → Thanh Phu
Looking for a more adventurous experience? This route goes deeper into Sapa’s countryside, beyond the standard tourist paths. Expect longer distances, uneven terrain, and a few challenging sections. You’ll still pass minority villages and stunning landscapes, but with fewer people around. Best for active hikers who want something less commercial and more wild.
After your trek, return to your accommodation in Sapa where you can relax, take a shower, and unwind after an active day.

The cycling route is mostly downhill and suitable for beginners with average fitness. You don’t need prior biking experience, and we ride at a relaxed pace with support available if needed.
Yes, especially if you choose the family-friendly trekking route. The downhill cycling and flexible trekking options make it easy to adapt the experience for families or older travelers.
