The dry months offer the most comfortable conditions for exploring volcanic lakes, ethnic villages and scenic coffee regions. Rainfall increases in summer and early autumn, which can make rural roads muddy and affect longer outdoor activities. Temperatures remain warm year-round, but evenings in December and January can be noticeably cool. For most custom itineraries, the dry season provides the most reliable and convenient weather.
