Start: Sleeper train from Hanoi
Your Fansipan climbing tour kicks off in Hanoi with an overnight journey to Sapa. You'll board the Dream Train Express at around 10:00 PM, settling into a shared 4-berth cabin with clean bedding and air-conditioning — a comfortable way to save travel time.
Prefer not to take the train? No problem — we can also arrange a VIP sleeper bus, a daytime limousine bus (with an extra hotel night in Sapa), or a private transfer.
Begin your Sapa adventure with the overnight Dream Train Express, where comfort meets charm on the rails. Step into a cozy cabin with plush beds, wooden accents, and warm lighting that creates a peaceful atmosphere as the train gently rocks you to sleep. As the city fades into the night, you’ll journey through quiet countryside and misty valleys under the stars. By morning, you’ll arrive in Lao Cai feeling refreshed and ready to explore the majestic mountains of northern Vietnam.
Arrive early at Lao Cai Station, where a driver will be waiting to take you to Sapa town. After a welcome breakfast at a local guesthouse, you’ll meet your local H’mong guide and porters for the trek ahead.
Choose how you want to end your Fansipan climbing tour:
The overnight journey aboard the Dream Train Express offers a comfortable and charming return to Hanoi after your mountain adventures. Relax in a private sleeper cabin with soft bedding, warm lighting, and classic wooden interiors that evoke the romance of slow travel. As the train quietly winds through the darkened hills, you’ll drift off to sleep to the rhythmic sounds of the rails. Arriving in Hanoi in early morning, well-rested and refreshed, it’s the perfect way to transition from Sapa’s highland calm to the capital’s vibrant energy
The trek is considered challenging, with steep sections and high altitude. You’ll need a moderate to high level of fitness, especially for the second day’s climb to the summit. If you're unsure, we can recommend a slower pace or the cable car descent option.
The tour runs in light to moderate rain. Trails can get muddy, so good hiking shoes and a rain jacket are recommended. In case of severe weather or unsafe conditions, the itinerary may be adjusted for safety.
We don’t recommend this trek for young children due to the altitude and difficulty. Teenagers in good physical condition may be fine, but please contact us to discuss suitability before booking.
Facilities are very basic. Campsites may have simple pit toilets, and there's no running water. It’s rustic but manageable for most travelers. Be prepared to go “bush style” during the trek in daytime so wet wipes and hand sanitizer are recommended.
Mobile reception is weak to non-existent for most of the trek. Don’t rely on internet access until you’re back in Sapa. We recommend informing friends or family in advance.
