Morning
The adventure begins with an early start at 7:30-8:00 am, as we pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. We’ll hit the road north towards Ba Be National Park, ready to make the most of what the day has in store for you.
On the way, we’ll stop for lunch at a village restaurant, where you can taste delicious local food and soak up the atmosphere of rural Vietnam.
Our route takes us through stunning mountains and tea plantations, with gorgeous scenery that will take your breath away. Then, we’ll arrive at Ba Be lake, an incredible natural wonder nestled in a lush green forest. You’ll be mesmerized by the stunning emerald waters and the serene beauty of the surroundings.
Afternoon
Next, we’ll head to the Tay village of Coc Toc, where you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality from the friendly local people. They make their living fishing in the stunning Ba Be lake and farming, and their traditional stilt houses are a sight to behold.
You’ll have the opportunity to stay in the homestay of a local family, immersing yourself in their way of life and experiencing their unique culture.
In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the beautiful surroundings. You can choose to visit Hua Ma Cave, an underground world of thousands of stalactites and columns, or take a walk or cycle around Coc Toc village, where you can soak up the local atmosphere and admire the scenic views.
For a more active option, there are kayaks on the lake, an great way to experience the stunning scenery up close. Alternatively, you can simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, taking in the fresh air and the tranquility of this hidden gem in northern Vietnam.

Day 2: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi

Morning
Board a boat after breakfast for a scenic tour of the lake. Enjoy the stunning views of karst formations, wild vegetation and wildlife. Swim in the cool waters or simply relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings
Explore the huge Puong Grotto cave with its impressive stalactites, stalagmites and bat colony.
Afternoon
After exploring Ba Be Lake by boat you can take a rest and take in the scenery during the drive back to Hanoi.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way.
Arrive in Hanoi around 17:30 to bid farewell to your guide, driver and tour group.

Is 2 days 1 night worth the trip to Ba Be Lake?
Yes, a 2 days 1 night trip to Ba Be Lake is definitely worth it. You can see the highlights of the lake and its surroundings . However this peaceful place is great to stay an extra night and do some additional activities such as trekking through the National Park and kayaking. Additionally, keep in mind that the transfer trip to and back to Hanoi can be tiring, so arriving one day and leaving the next day might be a bit much. If it fits your travel time, we would recommend our 3 day 2 night tour.
