Vietnam Travel Guide

At Local Vietnam, we understand the importance of a smooth and transparent payment process. That’s why we offer two convenient options for making your payments: direct bank transfers to our bank in Vietnam and payments via PayPal for those who want to pay by credit card and want extra purchase and fraud protection.
Local Vietnam is based in Vietnam and due to local laws, we are not able to use an IBAN account for international transactions. However, a bank transfer to us is still easy, free of charge and can be done in Euros. Below you will find all the necessary information to ensure a smooth transfer.
Check that the recipient’s country is set to Vietnam. If the country is still set to your country or any other EU country (ex. Germany, the Netherlands, Spain), these codes will not be requested. However, for transfers to countries outside the EU, such as Vietnam, the entry of a SWIFT or BIC code is required.
This problem arises when the recipient’s country has not yet been changed to Vietnam. Within the EU, you are expected to use an IBAN, which contains both letters and numbers. Vietnam does not use IBAN accounts; so make sure Vietnam is selected as the recipient’s country to avoid this message.
No, you do not need to activate specific settings such as “outside Europe” for transferring money abroad. This setting is relevant for using your bank card outside Europe. Bank transfers do not require such adjustments in your bank settings.
Until January 1, 2024, we offered the option to transfer to an IBAN account. Due to tightening Vietnamese legislation, we have had to discontinue this option to comply with local regulations. Transferring to an IBAN account is unfortunately no longer possible.

The address field is often not crucial to the wire transfer. Most banks only ask for the recipient’s address, not the bank’s.
At Local Vietnam, we do not charge any additional fees for bank transfers and there are no hidden booking or reservation fees. What you see is what you pay.
However, please note that any third party fees or surcharges, such as fees charged by your own bank for international payments outside the EU, may apply. These fees are determined by your bank and are independent of us.
For payments via PayPal, we charge a surcharge of 3% to cover transaction costs.
De CIF-code wordt gedeeld voor het geval dat jouw bank ernaar vraagt. Echter, in de meeste gevallen wordt deze code niet vereist door banken, en hoef je deze dus niet in te vullen.
