As the soft opening of Local Vietnam’s first lodge in Sung Trai, Ha Giang draws closer, Vice Director Duong Phung (Ni) has been spending extended time in the village — not only preparing the lodge for operation but also contributing directly to the local community through English teaching.
Supporting Local Education
This week, Duong has been leading English lessons for students at Sung Trai Primary School, helping them practice simple conversations and expand their vocabulary. For many students, this is their first opportunity to learn English from someone with practical experience in the tourism industry. Her lessons are part of Local Vietnam’s broader commitment to create long-term benefits for the people living around the new lodge.

On November 7, 2025, a crew from VTV Ha Giang visited the school to film a short feature highlighting how local tourism initiatives — including Local Vietnam’s projects — are contributing to community development and education in the region.
A Commitment Beyond Tourism
Even as work continues at the lodge ahead of its planned soft opening in December, Local Vietnam emphasizes that responsible tourism must go beyond accommodation and sightseeing. Supporting education, creating opportunities for the next generation, and ensuring that the region’s increasing popularity benefits its residents are core principles guiding the company’s work in Ha Giang.
Through Duong’s involvement at the school, Local Vietnam aims to build a sustainable connection between tourism growth and local community development — one classroom at a time.
