Itinerary
Day 1: Ha Giang City – Du Gia village – Meo vac (140km)
Your 3 day Ha Giang tour starts in Ha Giang City. You can choose to sit on the back of a highly experience motorbike driver (easy rider) or drive by yourself behind the guide.
Start driving to Bac Me district and enjoy the beauty of jungle and rice fields.
Continue to Du Gia, a beautiful and peaceful village of the Tay tribe, with stilt houses, traditional clothing and their own language.

Have lunch at a local family of the Tay ethnic.
After Lunch take the motorbike for a drive through Dong Van karst plateau geopark; very impressive mountains, with local minority villages of white H’mong along the road.

Around 5:30 PM you arrive in Meo Vac town were you stay in a homestay of a local family.
Day 2: Meo Vac – Dong Van – Yen Minh – Quan Ba (125m)
When you are lucky and you are in Meo Vac on Sunday, you can visit the biggest minority market in Ha Gaing: the Meo Vac market. Locals trading cattle and local products.
After breakfast in Meo Vac your trip continues by motorbikes over the Ma Pi Leng pass. This is the most beautiful pass in Vietnam, with majestic landscape and deepest valley Southeast Asia.

On the road to go to Quan Ba you will visit Dong Van Old quarter and visit some villages of white H’mong people, H’mong king palace and the peaceful town of Tam Son (Quan Ba).
You drive over another spectacular pass called the Tham Ma Pass.

About 6 PM you will arrive in Nam Dam, a beautiful village of the Dao minority. Enjoy a traditional dinner with a local family.
Day 3 : Nam Dam village – Quan Ba – Ha Giang City (60 – 90km)
After breakfast you will have a 1 hour trek to explore the beautiful area around Nam Dam village.
Then take the motorbikes to visit the peaceful town of Tam Son and from there the Lung Khuy cave.

After the cave you will visit some other panoramic viewpoints in Quan Ba, including the view over the Twin Mountains and Heaven’s Gate.

After lunch at a restaurant you visit a beautiful waterfall before the loop ends back in Ha Giang city
How do I get to Ha Giang
You can only travel from Hanoi to Ha Giang by road. There are night busses (including VIP bus) and during the day time there are also mini vans from Hanoi to Ha Giang and vice versa. Please contact us if you need help to arrange your transportation to Ha Giang.
What do I do with all my luggage
You can leave your big luggage in the office in Ha Giang City and only take your neccecary stuff with you. No problem to take backpacks on the motorbike. They will be on the back of the motorbike, so you don’t have to hold it by yourself. Suitcases are not possible on the motorbike.
What is the quality of the accommodation in the tour?
Ha Giang is not developed for tourism, meaning that you will mostly stay in basic homestays. A very authentic experience, but also no luxury. All accommodation include private room and hot showers.
How safe is a motorbike tour in Ha Giang?
Traffic is low in Ha Giang, but the roads are winding through mountain passes and sometimes from poor quality. Nevertheless the drivers (Easy Riders) are proffesional drivers who have done this trip countless times. They can ensure your safety and let you enjoy this amazing experience without a worry.
Can I drive motorbike myself?
It is possible to drive the Ha Giang loop by motorbike yourself. But please be aware of the following: officially it is illigal to drive a motorbike without a Vietnamese motorbike licence in Vietnam; this also means your insurance will not cover you fully. If you don’t have a lot of experience or if you are not a confident driver, we don’t recommend driving by yourself. If you do want to drive, we support you and you can follow the guide.
Is there a minimum age?
Minimum age guidelines do exist, but it is more important that children are confident and fit sitting on a motorbike. Contact us for more information.
Is the itinerary fixed?
You can talk with the guide if you want to change something in the Ha Giang loop tour program. The guide can change the plan within the possibilities of time, weather and distance.
What about the weather? Can I do the Ha Giang loop tour all year?
Weather in the mountains can be hard to predict, but even when it is raining you can still do the Ha Giang motorbike loop. Your luggage will be protected by rain and wear a rainjacket. Even when the weather is not perfect, this trip is still one of the best experiences you can do in Vietnam.
How many days is it best to do the Ha Giang loop?
Ha Giang is the most impressive region in Vietnam. You find here the most beautifull mountains and the most autentic minority villages. You will regret staying too short here; the longer the better. But, Ha Giang is not developped for tourism, so this also means accommodations and restaurants are very basic. This gives a more authentic feeling, but also can bring some people out of their comfort zone.
